HYDA Helmet Fit Guide

How to Measure Your Head for a Helmet

  1. Prepare a Measuring Tool – Use a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string.

  2. Position the Tape – Wrap the measuring tape around your head, approximately one inch (2.5 cm) above your eyebrows and ears, ensuring it encircles the widest part of your head.

  3. Read the Measurement – Note the measurement in centimeters (cm). If using a string, mark the length and measure it against a ruler.

  4. Repeat for Accuracy – Measure at least twice to ensure consistency.

Additional Fit Tips

  • Try Before You Buy – Whenever possible, try on helmets in person to assess comfort and fit.

  • The helmet should fit snug all around, and should not move forward or back on your head.

  • When assessing fit, the helmet may feel too snug at first, but the padding will warm and conform slightly to your head over the course of several minutes. Spend at least several minutes in the helmet to ensure the correct size

  • Adjustments – Ensure the helmet sits level on your head, covering the forehead without obstructing vision.

  • Retention System – Utilize the helmet’s retention system (e.g., fit dials, adjustable straps) to fine-tune the fit.

By following this guide, you can ensure that your HYDA helmet provides maximum protection and comfort.
